To assist in maintaining the best possible playing surfaces on all our courses during winter players are reminded to:
- Repair pitch marks on greens, preferably your pitch mark plus one other; Click here for recommended method
- Fill all divot holes with sand (sand only is the preferred method at The National) – both on fairways and in the rough;
- Properly rake bunkers and leave the rake in the bunker in the correct position (in the middle of the bunker with the handle parallel to the direction of play); and
- Drive golf carts on fairways and cart paths only. Carts must not be driven in the rough.
Smoking is not permitted on any of the courses at Cape Schanck.
It is the responsibility of all players to care for the courses as outlined above. The low marker in each group is requested to ensure golfers in their group comply with these requirements.
Members are responsible to ensure guests comply with course care requirements. Course rangers have been instructed to reinforce this.
The Board has also recently formally resolved, to ban golf buggies/trolleys from being parked on tees or greens on all courses at the Club, effective immediately.
The co-operation of all players in this regard will assist in protecting the courses and provide the playing conditions we all expect to enjoy at The National.
