Our team went down 5-2 against ladder leaders Royal Melbourne at Commonwealth on Sunday. Or winners were Dan Cann, who has had an outstanding year so far, and Sam Bakes, who continues to impress. The result was much closer than the scoreboard suggests, with Steve Coombes losing to an off the green birdie on the 19th hole, and Nathan Page who lost on the 20th, after his opponent birdied the 18th from in the trees, both birdying the 19th, and losing to an incredible eagle on the 20th. The standard was extremely high, and those who witnessed it, were left shaking their heads.

The National plays Kingston Heath in 2 weeks time at Yarra Yarra. We are now facing relegation to division 2, and must win at least one more contest to stay in division 1.

Despite some terrific golf from the team, The Colts suffered a slim loss going down 3 games to 2 to Huntingdale on Sunday at Commonwealth GC losing two games to the slimmest of margins. The Colts now need to win their remaining two games and rely on another result going our way to remain in Division 1. The last two rounds, after Easter, are at Yarra Yarra and Royal Melbourne, come along and lend your support. Click Here to see photo’s of the colts season so far.
