Isolated patches of couch grass, that became established in some greens on the Gunnamatta Course, are now being removed and replaced with clean sods sourced from the 19th green.

During the construction of the Gunnamatta greens, the profile was fumigated to kill any foreign plant material. Unfortunately, a small percentage of couch survived. The process requires the couch to be manually dug out, ensuring the removal of all the roots and stolons. The area is then backfilled and compacted before re-laying the new sod. The sod is sourced from the 19th green, as it is the same age as the existing green. Turf from the turf nursery will be used to repair the 19th green.
